Shipston Beekeepers first socially distanced physical meeting

The Committee of Shipston and District Beekeepers have been working hard to find ways to safely resume some events. Thanks to the Health and Safety expertise of one of our members we have completed a Risk Assessment for re-starting sessions at our Training Apiary in Brailes. Based on the risk assessment we have established a protocol for running sessions at the Training Apiary and, as we need to control numbers, we are now taking bookings for sessions (see the members area for details).

However our first physical event was courtesy of our member James Taylor. He works on the Broughton Grounds Farm and invited members to visit their Wild Flower meadow. Some 20 members of Shipston Beekeepers duly arrived in the evening of Wednesday 15th July, parked socially distant and were taken on a tour by James. As this was all outside it wasn’t at all difficult to maintain social distance.

A very enjoyable time was had by all and it was lovely to see fellow members in the flesh rather than via our 2nd Monday Zoom meetings. Thanks go to James for arranging the meeting.
