The Brailes Village Show is the first of the ‘big’ shows of the season – by which I mean there are honey and related classes in the Show tent.
Last year’s show was an incredibly hot day and the ground was so hard that the horse and pony events of the day had to be cancelled. This year we had wind, rain, sunshine, drizzle…….
But there was a steady flow of people to the Shipston Stand, run by David and Margery Blower with help from Dave Kelleher and Mike Clarke (who was also a judge in the Show tent, judging vegetables).
The ‘sales’ tables get across the message that there is nothing like real, proper honey…
whilst the demonstration hive gets people talking about beekeeping.
And there was a bit of a clean up in the Show tent with Julia Neal winning prizes for honey, A Frame Ready for Extraction and Mead, whilst Graham Franklin also won prizes for his honey.
All in all not a bad day despite the changeable weather.
See you at the Tysoe Show on 19th August 2023 – Shipston will be there led for this show by Douglas Nethercleft.
