We are planning to begin our very popular weekly apiary meetings from w/c 17th May 2021. As usual the meetings are intended to give new or would be beekeepers the experience of managing a colony of bees through the active season before they embark on keeping bees in their own apiaries. Those attending have the choice (subject to numbers) of joining either the Monday evening group or the Wednesday evening group and in a small group, guided by their tutor, they will experience the ins & outs of managing a colony of honey bees. This is a great way to learn but it does mean that attendees are unable to swap between evenings to suit their diary.
Normally the meetings are between 6:30pm – 9.00pm and run through until late August. The apiary is located in Lower Brailes. When restrictions allow there is the possibility of adjourning afterwards to the pub to quench thirsts and chat more about bees!
If you would like to attend, please use the link to a Google form in the Members area to register your interest now. Places are limited so book early to avoid disappointment.
We would also like to invite beekeepers with previous experience to help at the weekly meetings. Please use the same form to register your interest.
Many thanks,
David Blower & Douglas Nethercleft.
